I have an idea for a fantasy shooter. It's about a pantheon of ancient Atlantean gods, one of which is your character. Your character, Zabozeth, God of Silence, has a rivalry with Olris, the Deep One. At the beginning of the game, Olris sends you to hell and you have to fight your way out. Then you arrive in the human world and have to kill a bunch of building-sized robots built by Olris called Harvesters. After that you have to find and kill Olris. I may expand the plot some.
What do you think?

Wow that plot sounds awesome- and I like that there are already several different environments in the plot already. So you already have different levels. Also I like the idea that you start in hell and work you way up to what might be considered heaven and the boss battle is there- that is great.
I already have some enemies planned out.
Harvester: building sized robot that looks like a ufo on legs, with a massive glass dome on top filled with souls (looks like white mist full of screaming faces or something similar). You have to crack the dome with your scythe (Zabozeth is kind of like the Grim Reaper of Atlantis) in order to stop it, but you can completely kill it (make it fall over 'n' such) by destroying this little orb thing in the center of where the dome was - I have a few achievements I want to implement based around this mechanic. The Harvester is actually a basic enemy, since your jump can get you on top of a good-sized skyscraper (seeing as you're a god and all). They have guns mounted on the underside of their main body.
Hellion: skeletal humanoid with pitch black skin and large, alien-like red eyes. Haven't decided on their weapons yet. They come from souls that have fallen to Hell (in this form the souls just look like dead bodies), maybe three to a soul. Basically like normal enemies in such a game.
Soul Golem: a boss somewhere. Looks like a stone golem made out of souls that look basically the same as the souls inside the Harvester. Attacks by flinging souls and soul-based attacks.
Also, I have decided to make hell in this game a frozen wasteland rather than the conventional burning hell.
I was wondering if this would be a good one to try on the RPG maker- I know the style might not be the best for this particular story but it would be great to just start on a game.
I actually took this idea from something I started on the RPG maker; I'm hoping to eventually get it turned into a first-person shooter esque thing, but I may try it on that. BTW, do you guys still have the extra activation code for rpg maker vx?
If you guys are interested, I have ideas for the levels planned out.
Stage 1: Hell. Main enemy: Hellion. Secondary Enemies: Boneshark, Spineraptor. Boss: Aezazel.
Stage 2: Earth. Main Enemy: Raven. Secondary Enemies: Harvester. Boss: Destroyer.
Stage 3: Raptor. Main Enemy: Soulborg. Secondary Enemies: Turret. Boss: Soulforged Core.
Stage 4: Atlantis. Main Enemy: Spectre. Secondary Enemies: Golem, Crystal Wren. Boss: Soul Golem.
Stage 5: Corrupt Heaven. Main Enemy: Antisoul. Secondary Enemies: Cloudwyrm, Knightmare. Boss: Olris.
Undiscussed Enemies
Boneshark: Shark, made of bones. Instead of a tail, it has two raptor-like legs. It shoots shards of ice out of its mouth, which is a recoverable weapon.
Spineraptor: Skeletal raptor. It shoots ribs out of something similar to a sniper rife, which is also a recoverable weapon.
Aezazel: Massive humanoid armless god with a face similar to that of a Hellion. Attacks with a hand made of ice that floats around the battlefield. Killed with five shots to the head from a Spineraptor's sniper rifle. Drops recoverable Goat's Head weapon: the skull of a goat, which shoots blasts of dark energy and has unlimited ammo.
Raven: Cross between city scanner and manhack. Does not drop a weapon.
Harvester: Discussed in previous posts. Drops massive gun that can be picked up.
Destroyer: Massive Death Star-esque gun on legs. Does not drop a weapon.
(The Raptor is a massive battleship that you comandeer to fly to Atlantis.
Soulborg: Humanoid robot. Drops Soulblade, which is a sword made out of soulstuff (think soul golem or inside of a harvester).
Turret: Attached to various parts of the ship. Drops weapon similar to Harvester Gun.
Soulforged Core: Think Death Star II core, except made of soulstuff. Does not drop weapon.
Spectre: Basically a ghost. Soulblade does extra damage. Does not drop weapon.
Golem: Exactly what it sounds like: big stone construct. Drops no weapon, but you can pick up bits of its destroyed body and throw them (in shooter version).
Crystal Wren: Big bird creature made of blue crystal. Shoots beams of blue energy from its beak. Drops Crystal Wren Head, which shoots beams of blue energy.
Antisoul: Humanoid made of lightning holding two daggers, which are collectable weapons.
Cloudwyrm: Massive worm made of clouds. Shoots lightning from its mouth. No weapon.
Knightmare: Black-armored misty knight. Drops Nightmare Blade, a black sword.
Olris: Black-skinned beastial humanoid wearing a ragged black robe and holding a massive sword made of ice.
This looks awesome- maybe some time instead of playing D&D we should skype and work on this game. I think this would be fun on the RPG maker. And we could all see what everyone else is doing- through screen-shots.
Yes, we totally should. Maybe this weekend or next?
If we did this, maybe we could assign each person a stage to work on, since there are five people and five stages? I'd be willing to make the npcs and such once I get the hang of it.
That sounds like a great idea!
When do you want to work on it? This weekend good?
