Because I can.

This is basically altering existing physics to suit the needs of my scifi writing.  I'll also reference a few made up scientists.  Just ignore those.  If, in fact, you read this at all.

In this setup, there is not only the dichotomy of matter and energy, but there is a third aspect: psionics.  These are arranged in a linear fashion: matter can be converted into energy, and energy into psionics, but matter cannot be converted directly into psionics.  The same works in reverse: psionics to energy, energy to matter, but not psionics to matter.

Psionics comes with its own set of subatomic particles.  These are called Preterons, referring to the prefix preter-, as in preternatural.  A table of preterons appears below.

The horizontal axis represents the particle's spin, starting at zero and moving at 1/2 spin increments (that is, the first column has zero spin, the second has 1/2, and the third has 1); the vertical axis represents mass, with those in the highest row having positive mass, those in the middle row having no mass, and those in the lowest row having negative mass.  They are named after letters of the Greek alphabet, in the order in which they were discovered.

So do these relate in any way to psychic powers?
