The chart detailed in the introduction gives the nine basic groups of preterons.   The first category of preterons discovered, alphons, each have positive mass and 1/2 spin.  Alphons, along with epsilons and etons, are similar to fermions in having 1/2 spin, and thus obey the Pauli Exclusion Principle.  Alphons are typically magnetic monopoles, and as such can form intense magnetic fields.  A psychic can manipulate these magnetic fields to produce electricity effects, as described by the Vriith Alphon Conversion Principle.  Alphons may decay to bosons under certain conditions as well, and in laboratory tests have produced strange massless particles that resemble "antibosons"; each cancels out a boson it interacts with, similar to fermion antiparticles.
